Pan Trinbago resumes its Pan in de Countryside series.

The event which saw steelbands performing in various parts of the twin-island is set to commence on Saturday 31st March, 2012 at the Brighton Recreation Ground, Pt D’or, La Brea, from 5:00pm to 10:00 pm.

The La Brea pan jamboree will feature Petrotrin Phase II Pan Groove, La Brea Nightingales, Panosonic Connections, Birdsong, Trinidad East Side Symphony and Jah Roots.

Admission is free, however, there will be a limited number of seats at $125. per person on designated maxi taxis.  The maxis will depart Pan Trinbago Head Office, Park Street, Port of Spain at 3:00 pm.  Interested persons can call 623 4486 or 625 3556.

According to Pan Trinbago: ”Pan in de Countryside is a series of “Sunday” open air pan concerts designed to take the steelband music to far flung villages and small towns where there is an absence of steelband and where there is little understanding of what pan can offer the community”

In 2012, the aim is to take pan to Manzanilla in June, Speyside, Tobago in July, Tableland in August, Blanchisseuse in October and Williams Bay in November.
