Pan Trinbago Leadership Completes Strategic Visit to Saint Lucia, Strengthening Regional Steelpan Partnerships.

Port of Spain — The President of Pan Trinbago, Mrs. Beverley Ramsey-Moore, HBM Gold, along with the organization’s External Relations Officer, Mr. Marcus Ash, and Treasurer, Mrs. Lauren Pierre-West, visited Saint Lucia on official business as part of a regional engagement mission aligned with its External Relations Programme.

The high-level visit, which took place on May 10, 2025, was initiated in response to an invitation from the St. Lucia National Steelbands Association for cultural exchange and leadership dialogue in anticipation of the island's National Panorama competition in July.

During the visit, Pan Trinbago hosted a dedicated consultation with the St. Lucia National Steelbands Association to explore the formalization of its participation in Pan Trinbago’s International Affiliate Membership Programme. This initiative aimed to strengthen relationships with global Steelpan stakeholders and provide institutional members with access to Pan Trinbago’s expertise, international services, and global platform.

“Saint Lucia has been a vital partner in the regional Steelpan movement,” stated President Ramsey-Moore. “We were proud of our shared history and excited to deepen our collaboration through this new framework of support, mentorship, and cultural unity. This mission was part of Pan Trinbago’s goal of taking the Steelpan to global ascendency and solidifying our role as the World Governing Body for Steelpan.”

Through the Affiliate Membership Programme, the St. Lucia National Steelbands Association stood to benefit from consultancy in band development, training for tuners and arrangers, adjudication services, manufacturing support, and access to Pan Trinbago’s digital resources, international network, and participation in global cultural exchanges.

This visit followed Pan Trinbago’s consistent support of Saint Lucia’s Panorama in recent years, including the sponsorship of trophies and financial contributions. The proposed institutional membership sought to cement this cooperation into a long-term alliance.

Pan Trinbago’s leadership remained committed to regional integration and the global advancement of the Steelpan, reinforcing its mission as the World Governing Body for the Steelpan.
