Pan Trinbago Hosts Successful Extra-Ordinary General Meeting at Queen's Park Savannah
On Sunday, June 9, 2024, Pan Trinbago convened its Extra-Ordinary General Meeting at the V.I.P Lounge, Queen's Park Savannah, Port of Spain bringing together members of the Steelband fraternity. The meeting aimed to update members on the current status of the organization and discuss key upcoming events, including the Trinidad and Tobago National Steelband Music Festival "Steelpan is More Beautiful, 2024" and the Steelpan Month activities scheduled for August.
During the meeting, President Beverley Ramsey-Moore announced that the Government of Trinidad and Tobago laid the National Musical Instrument Bill 2024 into parliament to designate the Steelpan as the country's national instrument, along with other positive developments concerning the Trinidad and Tobago Steelband movement.
All Steelband members in attendance responded with a resounding round of applause, unanimously celebrating and supporting this notable achievement.
Throughout the event, representatives from various Steelbands had the chance to engage in a Q&A session, present their recommendations, and announce their own upcoming events. The interactive format fostered a sense of community and collaboration among attendees. Pan Trinbago reported the event as a resounding success, highlighting the positive reception and productive discussions that took place.
